Q&A Session Between Don Doyle Jr and Elite Sports
Question: What inspires you about BJJ? MMA?
Answer: What inspires me about BJJ and MMA or just fighting in general is the character development and how you are always constantly being humbled by other people who are better then you.
Question: Who inspires you, past or present? Why do they inspire you?
Answer: Muhhamed Ali, Dominick Cruz, Connor McGregor, and my dad. What inspires me about them is that they always had a vision for what they wanted to do with their lives and they were so confident that they told everyone no matter how crazy it sounded to other people.
Question: Any major accomplishments you’ve been able to achieve in that time?
Answer: Yes I'm
- 4-0 As an ameatur muay Thai fighter with 2 TKOs against adults
- Purple belt under Brandon Quick
- 1-0 as an ameatur mma fighter
- And I've also won many jujitsu tournament such as:
- AGF
- NAGA.
Question: What are your goals for this year? Next 3 years? Next 5 years?
Answer: I'M 17 right now and just made my ameatur mma debute and won by 1st round tko. For this year I would like to get as many fights as possible in my ameatur career and get as much experience as I can. Then in 3 years I will hopefully be a proffessinal mixed martial artist and possibly in the UFC. But the Ultimate goal is the UFC world title that's what every fighter dreams about and strives to achieve.
Question: What do you think it takes to be a champion in your sports?
Answer: It takes so much to be a champion in MMA. It's in my opinion the most demanding sport in the world, it constantly demands your time and all of your effort or else you just won't be successful. But in order for you to be a champion you need to have a sickening work ethic, you need to be someone who never gives up, you need to be a good loser and learn to grow from your losses. But one of the most important aspects of a champion is humility, from what I've seen in my experiences is so many fighters have lost to their pride even while going against lesser fighters. So Humility is so important, if you want to be world champion.
Question: Who is your favorite legendary fighter?
Answer: Muhhamed Ali, Dominick Cruz and Connor McGregor.
Question: How often do you train?
Answer: I try my best to train everyday, but unfortunately sometimes school gets in the way.
Question: How long have you been training?
Answer: I've been training at Fitness fight factory for about a year and a half now. I did 2 years of Tae Kwon Do when I was 12 and I'm starting high school wrestling when school starts. But jujitsu I've been training for a year and a half and got my purple relatively quick.
Question: Do you have a go-to finishing move?
Answer: Oh yes body shots all day long, but I also really enjoy headkicks I've kod a few people with them so how could I not like them.
Question: What sort of gear do you usually keep in your gym bag before hitting the gym? Do you have different items for specific days?
