Biography

Maltese Rico Tally is a 20-year-old Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Blue Belt training under Armando Reyna in Hobart, IN. He began training Jiu Jitsu in June 2013. Also he fights in MMA and after getting his Blue Belt on March 8, 2017, he has gone 2-0 as a pro grappler. Fighting for Grappling Pro Games and XFO Submission Only super fights. He's known for being a very creative and exciting competitor to watch. He's train 5-6 days a week and competes whenever a tournament or fight is available. Rico was born in East Chicago, IN but was raised in different cities growing up until 2011 where he stayed in Hobart to now. As a child he was very active with sports doing wrestling, track, football, cross country and basketball. He works at Dunking Donuts and is also a college student enrolled in nursing classes. He very kind and helpful towards others and always has a smile on his face. His goal is to be a world champion and inspire others to achieve their dreams no matter where you from or where you live.

Question: What inspires you about BJJ?

Answer: What inspires me is the ability to unlock my true potential and grow as a person and athlete

Question: What do you think it takes to be a champion in your sports?

Answer: I believe you have to work past your limitations show up to practice every day and to never lose focus and to never quit

Question: Any major accomplishments you’ve been able to achieve in that time?

Answer: 2-0 as A Pro Grappler & 12x BJJ Champion

Question: What are your goals for this year? Next 3 years? Next 5 years?

Answer: My goal this year is to win a belt in BJJ or MMA. Then in 3 years Be in the UFC. Lastly, in 5 years to have a happy lovely family.

Question: Do you have a go-to finishing move?

Answer: Guillotine

Question: How often do you train?

Answer: I train 5-6 times a week.

Question: Who inspires you, past or present? Why do they inspire you?

Answer: Bruce Lee because he was the original master of all the arts.

Question: What would be your dream fight?

Answer: UFC Title Fight.

Question: Who is your favorite legendary fighter?

Answer: Bruce Lee.

Question: What sort of gear do you usually keep in your gym bag before hitting the gym? Do you have different items for specific days?

Answer: I usually keep my have wraps, Shen guards ,boxing gloves ,GI ,mouth guard, Rashguard and compression pants in my bag
