ADCC Reveals 2nd Inductee to Hall of Fame Alongside Roger Gracie
The ADCC has revealed the second athlete to be inducted into the ADCC Hall of Fame to be Andre Galvao. This revelation came on time as per ADCC’s announcement to reveal further Hall of Famers one by one every Monday.
Andre Galvao, who hails from Sao Paulo, Brazil, has been a BJJ black belt with another belt of the same color in Judo as well. Active since 1996, Andre Galvao has managed to win the ADCC title 6 times while also winning 4 of the 5 superfights he’s fought for the federation. Both of these achievements are also ADCC records, along with the fact that Galvao hasn’t lost an ADCC match since 2009 (12 years).
ADCC went so far as to call Galvao the GOAT of ADCC given the fact that in the 23 years of the young federation’s history, no one’s been able to win the tournament 6 times. He’s also the only person to win more than 2 superfights.
Andre joined the ranks with Roger Gracie, who was inducted due to his achievement of being the only one to have double golded the ADCC with a 100% submission rate. This was in addition to being the ADCC weight, absolute and superfight champion, a feat he achieved in 2005.
ADCC will reveal the next inductee for its 14th Edition Hall of Fame next Monday, a weekly process that will repeat until all the inauguration class members have been revealed.
