IBJJF World Championship 2023 Complete Results and Reviews

The most awaited and thrilling IBJJF championship, IBJJF World 2023 was held in the first week of June from 1st June to 4th June 2023. In the championship, various new athletes earned gold medals and surprised the audience by taking the place of previous champions. Although there are a lot of surprising performances that attract the attention of the audience, one of the performances that surprised its audience is in the middleweight division where Jansen Gomes took a flight on Tye Ruotolo and IBJJF 2nd ranked athlete, Tainan Dalpra.

In this championship, only two black belt champions took double gold with them. Victor Hugo won two gold medals in the IBJJF World Championship 2023 and became ultra-heavyweight and absolute weight champion. Among female athletes, Gabrieli Pessanha was honored to have two Gold Medals with her, one in the super heavyweight division and the other in the absolute weight division.

Every year, various colored belt competitors appear in the World Championship. Like in previous years, a lot of colored belt athletes appeared, won, and received their black belts on the podium this year. Two brown belts from two well-known academies got the attention of the fans this year by receiving their black belts on the podium. Shelby Murphey, a brown belt from Art of Jiu-Jitsu won the gold medal in the rooster weight division, and Rafael Silveira, a brown belt from ATOS Jiu-Jitsu won the gold medal in the middleweight division. Both athletes were promoted to black belts on the podium.
