Ilima-Lei Macfarlane Promoted To BJJ Black Belt At 10th Planet

Ilima-Lei Macfarlane is an elite MMA fighter who competes for the famous MMA championship, Bellator was promoted to black belt by her coach, Richie 'Boogeyman’ Martinez. She started her amateur career in 2014 and won five consecutive fights in less than one year. After having her amateur record of 5-0, she started her professional career next year in 2015.

In her first fight being a professional fighter, she defeated Katie Castro and got her invitation from Bellator Fighting Championship at a very early age. She got her first title in 2017 and she defended her title four consecutive times. After her 11-fight winning streak and four successful title defenses, she lost to Juliana Velasquez in 2020.

Macfarlane has a record of 2-1 in grappling and was EBI Flyweight champion once. Now she is preparing herself to take her title back and in 10th planet Jiu-Jitsu. After receiving her black belt in August 2023 in 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu San Diego, she became a 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Her coach, Richie 'Boogeyman’ Martinez announced this news through his social media post.
