Mackenzie Dern - Promoted to 3rd-Degree BJJ Black Belt

Today Mackenzie Dern is a 3rd-degree BJJ Black Belt under Wellington Dias. At the UFC Vegas 73 held on May 20, 2023, Mackenzie Dern competed against Angela Hill and won the fight via unanimous decision. She depicted excellent fighting skills and even won the Fight of the Night bonus. This was the time when her coach and father Wellington Megaton Dias, decided to make the night even more memorable for her.

Mackenzie Dern is currently ranked number 8th in the UFC Women’s Strawweight fighters list.

Wellington Dias awarded his deserving daughter and student, with her 3rd-degree BJJ Black Belt. It was the most epic moment of the event marked by her victory and Black Belt promotion. In the post-fight octagon interview, Dern said that she wanted to win the fight via submission but didn’t get much time. She also claimed that she wanted to beat Charles Oliviera’s most applied submission record.

Mackenzie Dern praised her opponent on her exceptional skills and announced that she wanted to fight Rose Namajunas. Rose Namajunas is ranked number 5 in the UFC Women’s P-F-P fighter.
