2. Jeremy Jackson’s Biography
Jeremy Jackson is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) taught under Ciao Terra and Alan Marques. He is one of the Caio Terra Association's major representatives in BJJ's lightweight category.
Jeremy Jackson has been regarded as a promising athlete from his blue belt days when he won his first International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) Pan Championship in 2013. From there on, Jackson went on to win additional championships in global level competitions, cementing his position as one of the sport's best fighters.
2.1. Jeremy Jackson’s Early Life
Jeremy Jackson was born and grew up in Visalia, California, on February 11, 1987.
Jeremy Jackson, who has always been interested in sports, joined his first football team when he was eight years old and played until his freshman year of high school.
Jackson made it into his high school basketball team the next year, despite being tiny for his age (5'1′′ and 120 pounds), playing for his entire junior year.
Jeremy gained weight after leaving his sporting career behind to pursue a professional job in online marketing. He ultimately decided to get back in shape and ordered Tony Horton’s P90X, a 90-day exercise challenge.
Jeremy thoroughly appreciated the thrill of the challenge and the improvement to his attitude, the experience yielding more positive results than he had anticipated. He ended up losing 19 pounds after completing the challenge.
Embarking on BJJ Journey
In a desire to continue testing his limits, Jeremy began looking for the next challenge after Tony Horton’s P90X. Coincidentally, he drove past a Jiu-Jitsu gym around that time and decided to pull over. Jeremy walked into the gym, took a trial class, and fell in love with the martial art almost instantly.

Recieving Blue Belt
Jeremy started his journey at the Alberto Crane's Legacy gym in Burbank, California. He received his blue belt from this academy.
Joining Heroes Martial Arts Team
Later on, Jackson went to San Francisco and joined the Heroes Martial Arts Team where he was taught by the legendary Alan "Gumby" Marques. Jeremy rose to international prominence as a competitor in Gumby's team while running his own profitable web business alongside.
Promotion to Brown Belt

In 2016, Jackson was promoted to brown belt due to his remarkable performances on the mats.
Joining Caio Terra’s Academy (CTA)
After earning his brown belt, Jeremy Jackson started looking for the best training possible to help him to achieve success at the top level in martial art sports. He chose Caio Terra’s Academy (CTA) in San Jose, California for this purpose.
At CTA, Jeremy had the opportunity to practice alongside one of his idols, Caio Terra, and his world-renowned team of athletes.
Elevation to Black Belt
In July 2019, Jackson received his black belt fmo Terra at a ceremony that included both Terra and Marques.
Jeremy Jackson’s Injury
Jeremy Jackson suffered a knee injury in 2019, resulting in him having to take rest during that year, putting his plans on hold to win his first No-Gi World Title in 2019.
He announced that he got a quick meniscectomy to treat his injury and will be coming back to the mats at the 2020 European Championship.

Jeremy Jackson got married to Ashlee Jackson in October 2015. His wife is often seen cheering him up on his tournaments, being his biggest supporter . Jackson shares a very familial bond with his wife and entire family.

Jeremy Jackson faced Bruno Borges on May 27, 2020, at IBJJF European Open Championship and achieved a historic win.
The match was extremely competitive with both fighters coming strong at the start. Jeremy was able to take a dominant position at the start , making it difficult for Bruno to fight back.
Although Bruno managed to escape Jeremy’s hold in the middle of the round, Jeremy still won the match by accumulating more points in the end.

Salt Lake International Open Championship (2019)
One of the greatest achievements of Jeremy’s career is becoming the champion of the Salt Lake City International Championship 2019.
The skilled BJJ fighter displayed a remarkable performance throughout the tournament, achieving back-to-back wins against Jose Reginaldo, Alexander Yblong, and Thiago Lemos, making his way to the finals.
Jeremy faced Alexander Yblong again in the finals and became the champion in his weight division by earning more points than his opponent.

Atlanta Summer Open Champion (2018 + 2019)
