Jon Jones has recently made headlines by talking about the hardest punch he has ever received.
He was talking to Adin Ross, who is an online streamer. While discussing his career, Jones told him the hardest punch he has ever received in his entire UFC career.
He named Sugar Rashad Evans and credited him for the hardest punch in April 2012. He said that before him, Rashad punched Chuck Liddell with the same force and took the match from him.
“The hardest punch I received was from a guy named Sugar Rashad Evans. He caught me with an overhand right. It was the same punch he punched Chuck Liddell with and dropped him.”
He also explained the reason for calling it the hardest punch . He said that it was the speed of the punch that made him clueless against Rashad. He got the punch on the edge of his chin. Punch was not hard but the fastest, he said.
“It wasn't that he hit me so hard. It was the speed of the punch. He hit me so fast that I had no clue what it was. He caught me right at the edge of my chin, and I remember my feet.”
He said that the punch was so fast that he was completely distracted from the game and was unable to stand. He barely refocused after the punch.
“My feet came out from underneath me. I couldn't control my legs, so I refocused and could stand. Thank God I didn't become unconscious because I should have been. I got a great chance at something I can't take credit for. It's just something you're born with.”
