2. Leandro Rounaud Lima Biography
Leandro Lima de Souza is a highly skilled athlete in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Lima’s name is categorized among those fighters who have extensively worked with various top-notch instructors including Cicero Costha and Master Pino.
2.1. Why Leandro is named as “Rounaud”?
Leandro Lima is commonly named “Rounaud” which is based on Ronaldo, a famous football athlete who worked for Brazil in the early 90’s. When Lima was a child, his haircut was similar to the one that Ronaldo had at that time so people called him Ronaldo. After some years, Lima created a public account on Instagram to promote his BJJ career but various people started creating accounts by using his name. Lima then made some alterations in his name spelling and renamed his account as Rounaud.
2.2. Leandro Lima's Early Life
Leandro Lima was born on 21 November 1995 in Manaus. When Lima was 7 years old, he joined Orley Lobato’s gym due to his BJJ’s interest. Lima was first trained under the Guilherme Neto. After training under the Neto, Lima started learning under the supervision of Master Lobato who worked on Lima’s athletic skills and transformed him into a highly competitive green belt.
2.3. Joined the Manaus Academy
Leandro Lima wanted to become a top-notch grappler in BJJ so he was trained at various coaching schools in his early life phase. He joined Manaus, a Master Pina’s coaching institute, and trained there for several years. He remained in the same gym while getting all other BJJ belts.
2.4. Development of a New Athletic Team
During his entire BJJ career, Lima also worked with the top instructor Cicero Costha in Sao Paulo. Then in 2023, a new athletic team was developed in Sao Paulo by various top athletes who came from different famous teams including Barbosa, Dream Art, New School Brotherhood Cicero Costha, etc. An invitation was also sent to Leandro Lima and he immediately joined.

On 1 September 2017, Leandro Lima earned his black belt under Master Pina.
